Here are the talks & workshops I will be conducting personally. I believe of having a smaller group will enable us to have more time and attention to focus on every participant. Gardening Bootcamp (GT001)

This 2-hr sharing session is specially designed for new gardeners who want to have a successful and rewarding experience. This talk will provide participants with basic gardening knowledge such as growing conditions, choosing the right plants for the right place, assessing garden spots, plant care and maintenance, common and types of garden plants. These topics will give you a good head start before you even start your gardening journey! I will also share my gardening experience and knowledge to answer and help budding new gardeners to be more successful in gardening. Also, I will share with you my successful gardening methods which has proven to work for many of my fellow gardeners.

Office and Indoor Gardening (GT002)

No space for gardening? Why not try growing indoors?! Growing plants indoors can be a challenge, but it is definitely possible. I have personally set up successful office gardens which require little maintenance and bring life into the busy environment. In this 1-hour session, I will point out tips and tricks on how to grow plants well in such environments, introduce suitable plants for these special places. Some temperate plants can grow really well in air-conditioned environments and your relatives or colleagues will be fascinated by them.

Grow it: Carnivorous Plants (GI001)

This talk will focus mainly on growing carnivorous plants successfully in our climate. Carnivorous plants are interesting plants which trap insects for food in order to survive in their harsh natural habitats. Most of us will believe that these special plants need special care, but with knowledge, they turn out to be one of the easiest garden plants to maintain. I will touch on growing conditions for these plants, maintenance and propagation, tips and tricks to grow them well.

 

Grow it: Culinary Herbs (GI002)

Back by popular demand! This course focus on how to grow culinary herbs in our Singapore climate. I will talk about Mediterranean herbs such as Rosemary, Thyme, Mint, Organo, Marjoram, which can be easily grown with the right knowledge. I will share with you my tips and tricks which have been proven to work. Herbs are easy and fun to grow, fragrant plants are interesting additions to your garden, and you can even use them in your cooking!

      Hi Gillian,

      There is no herb talks now. Herbs will be covered in my beginner’s class. I will be planning a specialised herb talks on a later date.

    Hi, I just bought a pitcher plant and a orchid from the woc yesterday and wanted to be sure that i don’t kill the 2 plants. I am not sure if you have any Grow it: Carnivorous Plants (GI001) talk on it…

    If there is no talk or workshop, can I ask u for some personal advise(watering etc) on the 2 plants above.
